PTO Meeting

Thank you:

To all the parents who helped with first 3 events; BooHoo/WooHoo Kindergarten gathering, book fair

volunteers, and conference meals with set-up and clean-up, we greatly appreciate the support

 

Principal Report:

Fall Festival of books next week; Oct 22-26 with Libros y Lobos dress up themes for each day

Guest speakers coming to read favorite Spanish book and talk about their use of Spanish in community

Room Parents to support classroom teachers, if needed- we’ll share list with Tracy and teachers after Great

Gatherings

November 9 is Veteran Day assembly

Thank you to everyone doing a Gathering or silent auction

Find out how all the money supports Spanish Immersion through the posted videos on the PASI site

Can still buy tickets and can pay at the door

Tues, Oct 23 is last day to turn in baskets and gatherings

Still need volunteers to help with games at the Great Gathering event

Make a Wish – letter writing; Vik noted Edison has won the last couple of years and we’d like to take over!

 

Art Teacher has volunteered to make a Mural, but would like to have 10 ft canvas to work with so it can be

saved from year to year.

Only 4 volunteers and committee has not been contacted

 

Megan Pederson discussed the history of the bake sale and the revenue made has been between 9-10,500; 143 items donated and if all sold $10,000

Box Tops update

School Wide Classroom Competition

– discussion of what class will win at end of year but nothing finalized.  Ideas include: pizza party; ice cream party; more time a field day

 

– mini competitions to keep classrooms motivated

First deadline Oct. 24 – popcorn party

maybe top 3 classes

 

Kids have made videos to explain to teachers and also the classrooms the purpose of box tops!  Will be

shared at announcements today and Vik will post.
