When: Tuesday, April 24 at 6:00-7:30 pm.
Who: Any Sonia Sotomayor Elementary Student in grades K-5 is invited and encouraged to enter a science fair project in this year’s science fair! Projects may be done individually or in groups of 2 students. Projects are to be done at home by the students. Please allow your child to do the work themselves according to his or her ability level. We want everyone to have fun and learn! A parent’s role is to encourage and guide.
Why: To promote the joy of learning about science and to share this information with others!
A panel of judges will review the projects. The judges will help choose the top 3 projects in each of the 3 categories by grade level (K-1, 2-3, 4-5). Additionally, the 3 students judged to have the best “experiment” projects will be invited to enter their projects in the Sioux Falls Science Showcase on Saturday, May 12 at the Washington Pavilion of Arts and Science! All participating students will receive a certificate.
How: Register at https://goo.gl/forms/YlPwrsZCjBDUDbmH2! Registrations are due on Friday, April 13.
We will be sharing a science fair planning packet on our website soon. Please visit sotomayor-sfsd.org to learn more.
